Gary Yates is a founding partner in effective environments. He is a management consultant and executive coach, with experience in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors. He has been developing and incorporating coaching principles and techniques into his management approach for the past 18 years.

Gary has more than 25 years of experience in management, marketing and program management. He has managed multimillion dollar projects and a department of 300 employees. He is skilled in staff development, management development and program management. He has conducted projects for NASA, the United States Coast Guard, the United States Air Force, the Defense Logistics Agency, the United States Department of Energy, as well as numerous county and state governments. In addition, he has led international projects in Switzerland, France, Libya and Tunisia. He was a senior manager with both Battelle Memorial Institute and The Global Hunger Project and has held positions on various Boards of Directors.

Gary has developed numerous programs that dramatically increase effectiveness and productivity at both the personal and the organizational levels. He has authored or co-authored more than 30 articles on subjects such as effectiveness, coaching, time management, project management, clutter management and daily steps to productivity. He is the co-creator of the audio tape, "Being Effective: Fulfilling Your Dreams."

Gary is a member of The Society for Human Resource Management, the Northern California Human Resources Association, the California Association of Nonprofits, and BoardSource.
